Founders and Futures Spotlight: RichGirl Sips Bartending
Some businesses are built around a product. Others are built around an experience.
For Brandy Richardson, founder of RichGirl Sips Bartending, every event is about more than serving cocktails. It's about creating moments people remember long after the celebration ends. Whether she's behind the bar at a wedding, corporate event, or private party, her goal is simple: deliver exceptional service that leaves guests talking about the experience as much as the drinks.
"At RichGirl Sips, we bring vibrant, professional, and fun mobile bar services to every celebration," Brandy shared. "Our expert mixologists infuse creativity into every cocktail using fresh garnishes and premium ingredients to perfectly match each occasion."
That commitment to quality has been at the heart of RichGirl Sips for the past eight years, but the business itself was inspired by something much simpler.
Creating a Better Experience
After years of visiting lounges, sporting events, and social gatherings, Brandy found herself consistently underwhelmed by the level of service she received. While the drinks were often fine, the overall experience rarely matched the occasion.
"After years of experiencing mediocre bar service, I was inspired to create the kind of vibrant, high-energy cocktail experience I always expected whenever I ordered a drink," she said. "I wanted RichGirl Sips to deliver not just great cocktails, but an unforgettable experience filled with quality, creativity, and exceptional service."
That vision continues to guide every event. RichGirl Sips isn't simply hired to pour drinks. The team creates an atmosphere where guests feel welcomed, engaged, and excited to celebrate together.
It's the Details That Matter
One of the biggest misconceptions Brandy encounters is that bartending begins when guests arrive. In reality, she says, the work starts long before the first cocktail is served.
"One thing I wish more people knew about our industry is the amount of preparation and attention to detail that goes into every event."
At RichGirl Sips, specialty cocktails are crafted with freshly squeezed citrus juices, homemade syrups, premium ingredients, and carefully selected garnishes. Every menu is customized to fit the client's vision, creating an experience that feels intentional from the first drink to the last.
Her business mantra says it all: "Entertain the thoughts."
For Brandy, hospitality isn't transactional. It's about creating an experience that exceeds expectations and leaves guests with memories they'll carry long after the event is over.
Building Something That Reflects Her
Entrepreneurship has also allowed Brandy to build a business that reflects her own creativity and personality. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling and spending time outdoors, including a memorable four-day road trip from Washington State to South Carolina with her sister, stopping at landmarks like Mount Rushmore along the way.
That adventurous spirit shows up in her business, where every event presents a new opportunity to create something unique.
If RichGirl Sips had an official theme song, Brandy says it would be "Kinda Like a Big Deal" by Clipse featuring Kanye West. It's a fitting choice for a business built around helping clients celebrate life's biggest moments.
Looking Ahead
Eight years after launching RichGirl Sips, Brandy continues to focus on raising the standard for mobile bartending while creating memorable experiences for clients across the region.
Her journey is a reminder that entrepreneurship isn't always about inventing something new. Sometimes it's about recognizing where an experience can be better and having the courage to create it yourself.
